I need to have a credit card to download a FREE app to make software for YOU. I am quite annoyed.

I had no problem with the previous version. But as always stupid Apple policy forced me to update. And now all I can say is bugs! Not me in my code but in their Xcode. some of my windows are dispaeared after I used two monitors. Everytime I open the project it only shows me one file. No matter what I do to change the view to sea the tree and debugging area, it doesn’t work. Thank you Apple! EDIT: After the new version was out I downloaded the updates because I was so naive to think the bugs were solved. Not only there were much more bugs in the new updates it was 10 times slower. Deleted that immediatelty and rollbacked to version 6.0. Everything is fine and smooth after that. Just 1 piece of advice: if you have no problem with the older version, DONT DOWNLOAD THE NEW VERSION!!! PS. Thanks Apple for putting shine effects and pretty buttons (the damn UI) ahead of performance in your list as always.

xCode is powerful and in many ways well thought out. However, I still get regular crashes, which shouldnt be happening with such a mature development IDE. I would love to see official support for plugins. What modern IDE doesnt support plugins?

swift is awesome, really awesome. I liked it:) it helped me with my project.

Tooks like XCode should be fast and reliable. XCode is neither. Live issue updates, syntax highlighting and pretty much everything else is very slow. Even things that should not be slow are slow. For example why do various panes in XCode animate? There is absolutely no need for this. If you are developing all day watching these panes animate in and out is a complete waste of time. On the reliability front, XCode crashes at least once or twice every hour when using Swift. Sometimes it crashes right away after reopening. Other times opening the project after crash does not have all the latest edits to the files. Considering how many people rely on XCode to work I hope it imporoves substantially in both reliability and speed instead of having more unnecessary stuff added to it as features.

So what am I suppose to do when the update fails and installing it from scratch also fails?

Random bugs there and here. Storyboard Autolayout system bugs. Frustrating!

Not sure, why it has crashed numerous times. I am just learning XCODE and Swift and typing 5-10 lines of codes on Xcode (Playground). Could it be because I didn’t allow it for automatic permissions?

I cant use Xcode because of I dont want to download os x yosmite how do you download the newest version of Xcode without downloading on yosmite

Needs a fix.

Save often when you play with the xibs editor… keep crashing while changing a value from dropdown options. Very hard to get things done!!!!

unstable, mucks up files, a complete and utter travesty. someone should be fired for putting this app out for general use

Along comes xcode 7 to break everything. Well done. At least they added refactoring for Swift. Oh wait...

I updated for the ios 9 compatability and have been dissapointed ever since. For some reason it now opens all the xib files in 2 screens and can’t find the reference to images when it does so. It also crashes every time you change constraints! I don’t think I’ve gone more than 30 minutes with out it crashing on me, so save often. Seriously the worst version of xcode I’ve worked with. I wish I could give it 0 stars

It seems every time there’s an update for Xcode you’ll press Update and the download will just sit there with “Waiting: Zero KB of 4.3GB” just like every other update they put out. I have no idea why this is the only app that freezes up the App Store downloads as I can bypass the waiting and download other apps while it just sits there frozen.. Fix this garbage and maybe it’ll get more than one star because every time you offer an update the application is unusable until you cancel the update with the little x in the applications folder. What a great product.

There’s no other way to say this: Xcode is getting slower and slower with every release, storyboards is still extremely buggy and I just don’t understand the documentation provided by Apple (website or Xcode) as is has no real world examples; ridiculous. So most usually, when I go on the Apple Web Site, code examples are old, outdated, swift only or uses patterns are different so offers little or no help. Not to designers @ Apple: stop puttting efforts in the visual design of Xcode and make sure the core/key features and functions actually work correctly. Thanks. So the only good thing about Xcode is stackoverflow.com! Thank god for that web site as coding without it would just be close to impossible. Note: Would it possible for someone at Apple to do some quality control? Not only for Xcode, but also for the app submission process which basically serves no purpose and is slower then my grandmother walking in a crowd. 5 days? 8 days? for a single small simple app? Ridiculous. Cheers.

Whenever I try to use the SKS editor in Xcode, my iMac freezes completely and then spontaneously restarts. I wont be able to work on my apps until this is fixed. I regret doing the update, and I recommend that others avoid it.

This iteration crashes miserably anytime I work with SKS files (i.e. particularly when I close one)

Seriously… had to delete it off my computer to upgrade and now it won’t upgrade… How am I suppose to finish my app for a deadline without the app working or downloading. Please fix the issue.
