xcode way below the other IDEs

If you never tried the Jetbrains IDEs or even Visual Studio, Xcode will seem decent. However it is not. It is incredibly not optimised and stupid when it comes to understand the code, like finding the definition of a variable we click on. Apart from the slowness it’s pretty complete and free so...

Best IDE but very unstable version

- Xcode frequently crashes when developing in Swift 2.x. It’s currently almost unusable to code in Swift. And the beta 2 of the next version doesn’t solve this issue :( - Help and autocompletion often dont work.

Steadier

I found Xcoce more steady with this update

Doc navigation back!

The documentation navigator is back! The update before this one have stripped it off and it make all the difference when you’re searching for information throughout the extensive documentation. I found this version more stable than the former.

An awesome IDE

I’m a senior with PL development. I’he been on the road for quite a while. For sure, Xcode is one of the greatest IDE I’ve ever used. Of course, a privilege for Mac users. Congrat’s to Apple software development team. JIMiranda.

Crashing Too much

Every 5min it crashes!!!! I don’t know what they did….. XCode 5 was running very good. Now it’s a pain to develop anything. I’m currently on Mavericks. And updated from the previous version. Right now I’m downloading Yosemite and Deleting the app. After installing the new OS, I will make a clean install of XCode to see if it fixes itself. Right now, it deserves 1-star.

xCode is amazing! But it is crashing forever on OSX Yosemite.

I’m new to iOS development and I’ve been using xCode for about a year. Having a strong design background myself I need to say thanks for Storyboard feature, it is incredibly easy to get used to it and it also helps a lot new comers to programming like me to get a picture of what can be done with xCode from prototypying to actually building a real app. However, after updating to Yosemite xCode 6.1 keeps crashing constantly, making it a hard time to do develop anything.

Not there yet.

Well, even though Apple has added several interesting features to this release, it’s still buggy. The auto-complete feature is a lot slow and most of the time don’t work fine. Also I receive a lot of crashes. I don’t what happened to this release of Xcode, but Apple really coulnd’t make it right yet.

It crashes all the time

It’s impossible to work with Xcode. It crashes all the time with this new update. Please, Apple, fix this ASAP.

With every new version… the fun begins again.

Each time a little slower with every new version… developing for iOS is hell.

Slow as fck

xCode 7 is extremly (!!!) slow on a MacBook 15-2015. It is annoying if you have more than one project or tabs open. Everything else works really good.

All Inspectors within Interface Builder are not working correctly...

… this is so sad :( How should I work with something like that? I have the feeling that on any update from Xcode something essential got broken.

Lots of crashes and exceptions

The version 7.1 has a lot of problems in the interface builder, sometimes just thinking about changing a constraint crashes it. While editing Swift code the syntax highlighting crashes almost everytime I try to call a function of an optional with the ?. operator, this did not happen with version 7.0. I regret my decision to update. And lastly, why is it still not possible to refactor Swift code? This is an essential feature of every IDE!

The Forgetful IDE

I would really like to know why Xcode always resets my build and archive settings before a store submissions.

Not stable!

This verson of Xcode (7.1) crashes more often than any other XCode version I have used before…

unable to update or download

Please help me. I am unable to update my Xcode from the App Store.

Appstore problem with this app.

Displays only one time in update list, now it’s gone. Can not update! Add: Finally it’s back again in the update list…so 5 stars.

Update is a kataklysm (again)

Once again, Xcode gets stuck in the update queue (stuck at 0 Bytes, won’t start). What I have to do is deleting Xcode completely (of course with third party apps) and download it (I wonder how it is even possible that every Xcode update is about 4 or 5 GB). You just can’t be productive for hours when another Xcode version is being released. That’s a joke in my opinion.

I can’t update Xcode

As I can not install the new version of Xcode all development activities for iOS at our company have been suspended!

-1 star

Have you guys ever try to install by yourself? it’s never finishing install. what quality you always asked from developers when you yourself not able to maintain it.
