I am used to work with intellij which is lightyears better than xcode. I cannot understand why a company like apple comes out with such a crappy development environment. The compiler is great, swift is great but the idea is crap.

I have experienced no problems whatsoever installing (in about 10-15 minutes, without the download time) and running XCode 7.2 (7C68) on a fresh El Capitan (OSX 10.11.2) inside a VMWare Fusion 8.1 Virtual Machine (2 cores, 8 GB RAM) running on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.9.5. (16 GB RAM).
I didn’t have any problem with the download or installation of Xcode.
Version 7.2 is broken. Most of the tasks a developer has to do every day do not work.
Upgrading XCode usually results in lost productivity and today is no different. Installation of this build results in numerous warnings (for unused variables) being treated as errors despite settings being distabled. Fixing these only leads to further build and linking errors that I’ve yet to figure out. Be prepared to kiss your day goodbye!
I am frustrated that when xcode updates (which it does automagically now) it deletes old simulators.
PRevious versions should be made available for previous os versions.
Cannot open the xcode to get to the menu where it says create a new project or open a project. Pls fix that
If you have the opportunity, I’d suggest waiting for the next update. This one has the strangest bugs...
I don’t like this xcode 6 at ALL! I need to re-install xcode 5. Do work hard APPLE!~ I will check xcode 6 in next month. Hopefully it will better.

I wish I could downgrade. I’ve lost 3 hours today trying to get my app working again after this upgrade. The easy part was the update with Swift 1.1. The hard part is that my app no longer loads on my iPhone, and the simulator won’t even start. I hope I can get this running today. I don’t want to lose more than a day of productivity because of an “upgrade"
Application loader should allow drag & drop
Basically I had code and an interface that worked before the update, then I downloaded the update and it no longer works. Fix your damn bugs apple.
SourceKit as Terminated for the 1000x times...
Xcode used to be so good. Now the editor seems useless as it is plagued with bugs. Bugs that don’t allow projects to run, bugs that cause it to crash on application debugging. Really miss the old Xcode – it didn’t look as nice, but at least it worked.
This verison of XCode was not release worthy. It crashed at least twice an hour. Code autocomplete almost always crashes. Segue’s crash. Swift files cannot be found for compilation because somehow the build target phase indexing goes corrupt every now and then. Xcode keeps complaining that another instance of simulator is open, when it is not. If you add a UI table to a view, no other items can be placed around the view. Half of the errors are cryptic non-sense. Bottom line is that developing with XCode is very unpleasant experience now. I hope apple will fix it, or let me join apple, and I will fix them.
I was forced to install this application because i keep getting “nag” messages when installing/launching some applications that for some reason require my computer to have Xcode. And do my rating is that i don’t like it simply because why do i even need this application installed and if it is that important to Yosemite OS why not have Yosemite self install this application.
How could this be acceptable… Tim Cook, please do something??
Lets start with this. The app itself gives a great platform for writing code! I love it! However, when I decide to change the name of the app I am working on, it keeps on crashing the app saying “mach-o-linker error”. I changed the name like Apple’s documentation tells me to. I revert it back to the original name and change it to the new name and then it works. It may occasionally crash however and I have to do this process all over again. I hope this gets fixed. In the end I am quite impressed with the features of Xcode and its design. Very easy, type inference is amazing and the documentation is absolutely incredible! Just fix the errors and it will be a 5 star app!
