Cannot Install

I just got a band new macbook air out of the box. Xcode is always a major pain to update, so I thought I would get it out of the way and install it first. I just finally got it installed on my third try. This last time it had been bouncing back and fourth between “less than a minute” and “8 minutes” for about an hour. This is the install, mind you, not the download. And this is not a new issue. I shudder every time I see Xcode in my updates. I had hoped it would go better on a brand spanking new machine.
