Why do i even need to install this application ?

I was forced to install this application because i keep getting “nag” messages when installing/launching some applications that for some reason require my computer to have Xcode.

And do my rating is that i don’t like it simply because why do i even need this application installed and if it is that important to Yosemite OS why not have Yosemite self install this application.
